Charming's Enchanted Apple Turnovers
These delightful turnovers are royally good, with a golden, flaky pastry crust encompassing a warm, spiced apple filling. They're straightforward to prepare yet impressive, making them a perfect treat for any occasion, evoking the charm of a magical kingdom.

Directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated.
- 3
Unroll the pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface. Using a 4-inch round cutter or a knife, cut each crust into four circles.
- 4
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the apple mixture onto one half of each pastry circle, leaving a small border.
- 5
Fold the other half of the pastry over the apple filling to create a half-moon shape. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- 6
Transfer the turnovers to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the turnovers with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse turbinado sugar.
- 7
Cut 2-3 small slits on the top of each turnover to allow steam to escape during baking.
- 8
Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed. The filling will be bubbly.
- 9
Let the turnovers cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.
