Tali's Migrant Fleet Rations, Reconstituted
On a long journey across the stars, sometimes you need sustenance that’s both comforting and packed with energy. This hearty, savory stew with root vegetables, tender protein, and a touch of earthiness is designed to sustain you through any mission, no matter how remote the nebula. It's a taste of home, even when 'home' is a ship in the void.

Directions
- 1
Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat.
- 2
Add the chicken pieces and sear until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- 3
Reduce heat to medium, add onion, carrots, and celery to the pot. Sauté until softened, about 8-10 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
- 4
Stir in the minced garlic, dried thyme, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 5
Return the chicken to the pot. Pour in the chicken broth, then add the diced parsnips, rutabaga, and rinsed lentils.
- 6
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the lentils are cooked through.
- 7
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. If the stew is too thick, add a splash more broth.
- 8
Stir in the fresh parsley just before serving. Ladle into bowls and serve hot.
