Naco Supreme Skillet
Inspired by a certain crime-fighting high schooler's favorite snack, this layered skillet dish brings together seasoned ground meat, crispy tortilla chips, and melty cheese, all baked to golden perfection. It's an ideal, hearty meal that's easy to pull together for a quick weeknight dinner or a fun gathering. The fresh toppings add a vibrant contrast to the rich base.

Directions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
In a large cast-iron skillet (10-inch or 12-inch), brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until no pink remains, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- 3
Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir well to coat the meat evenly.
- 4
Pour in the water and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the liquid to reduce slightly. Remove from heat.
- 5
Arrange half of the tortilla chips in an even layer over the bottom of the skillet, directly on top of the seasoned beef.
- 6
Sprinkle 1 cup of the Monterey Jack cheese and 1/2 cup of the Cheddar cheese over the chips.
- 7
Top with the remaining tortilla chips and then sprinkle with the remaining Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses.
- 8
Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chips are slightly golden at the edges.
- 9
Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Garnish with chopped Roma tomato, sliced green onions, and fresh cilantro.
- 10
Serve immediately with a dollop of sour cream on the side for each portion.
