Pearl's Pecan Praline 'Pie' Bites
These delightful, bite-sized treats are a nod to Pearl, the sweet and enduring heart of Patch of Heaven. They offer all the warm, nutty comfort of a classic pecan pie but in an easy-to-eat, no-fuss form, perfect for sharing over stories or enjoying alone as a comforting indulgence.

Directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium bowl, combine the chopped toasted pecans, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, beaten egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- 3
Lightly dust a clean surface with flour and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to an approximately 10x12-inch rectangle.
- 4
Cut the puff pastry into 12 squares, each approximately 3x3 inches.
- 5
Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the pecan mixture into the center of each puff pastry square.
- 6
Bring two opposite corners of the square together over the filling and pinch firmly to seal, forming a small parcel. Gently press down the remaining two corners or leave them open.
- 7
Carefully transfer the filled puff pastry bites to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.
- 8
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the filling is set and bubbly.
- 9
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 10
Once cooled, you may dust with confectioners' sugar before serving, if desired. Serve at room temperature.
