Directions

    To make the special sauce, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, white vinegar, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl. Stir well and set aside.

    Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form into thin patties, slightly larger than the buns, as they will shrink during cooking. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

    Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until shimmering.

    Place the patties in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until desired doneness is reached.

    During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.

    While the patties cook, lightly toast the cut sides of the sesame seed buns in a separate dry skillet or toaster.
