A surprisingly tender and sweet individual cake that, despite its rugged appearance, reveals a soft heart. Inspired by a certain royal-blooded companion with a tough exterior but a sweet disposition, this chocolate lava cake offers a warm, molten center that's sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. It's quick to prepare and even quicker to disappear.

Directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and flour four 6-ounce ramekins, tapping out excess flour.
- 2
In a double boiler or microwave, melt butter and chopped chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
- 3
In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole eggs and egg yolks with granulated sugar until light in color and slightly thickened.
- 4
Gradually whisk the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until well combined.
- 5
Gently fold in the flour, vanilla extract, and salt until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- 6
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Place ramekins on a baking sheet.
- 7
Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center still jiggles slightly when gently shaken. The outer edge should look like a small, stable hill.
- 8
Carefully remove from the oven. Let cool for 1-2 minutes, then invert each cake onto a dessert plate. A small, gentle tap should release them.
- 9
Dust generously with confectioners' sugar. Serve immediately with fresh berries or ice cream, if desired, revealing the molten center.
