Dragon's Flame-Kissed Apple & Cranberry Crumble
A comforting baked dessert with a fiery crumbly topping, inspired by a certain majestic, fire-breathing friend. Tart apples and cranberries mingle under a buttery oat and pecan streusel, baked until bubbly and golden.

Directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly butter an 8x8 inch baking dish or a 9-inch pie plate.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Toss to coat evenly. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- 3
In a separate medium bowl, combine the oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, pecans, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt. Whisk to combine.
- 4
Add the cold butter cubes to the dry topping mixture. Using your fingertips or a pastry blender, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 5
Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.
- 6
Place the baking dish on a baking sheet to catch any potential drips, then bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the fruit filling is bubbly and the topping is golden brown and crisp.
- 7
If the topping starts to brown too quickly, you can loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
- 8
Remove from oven and let cool for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. This allows the filling to set slightly. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
