Donkey's Delicious Waffle-Doffles with Honey Glaze
Inspired by a certain talkative companion's love for breakfast treats, these Waffle-Doffles are a delightful hybrid of a light, fluffy cake-donut and a crispy waffle. Glazed with a sweet honey and cinnamon mixture, they're irresistible.

Directions
- 1
Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease if not non-stick.
- 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, 1/4 cup melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- 4
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.
- 5
Spoon about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of batter per waffle onto the hot waffle iron, depending on its size. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crisp, usually 3-5 minutes.
- 6
While waffles cook, whisk together the 3 tablespoons melted butter, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl to create the glaze.
- 7
Once cooked, gently remove waffles from the iron and immediately brush generously with the honey glaze on both sides.
- 8
Repeat with remaining batter and glaze. Serve warm for a sweet treat.
