Black Jesus: Christmas
Jesus turning water into wine, or at least making sure everyone has a good time at the park.

Miracle Water Sangria

This vibrant sangria, a true holiday miracle in a pitcher, transforms simple ingredients into a festive, spirit-lifting concoction, much like a certain carpenter might have done with water. It's perfect for gathering friends and keeping the good times flowing, Compton-style, even if you’re just turning up in your own kitchen.

Directions

  1. 1

In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and granulated sugar, stirring well until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 1 minute.

  2. 2

Add the thinly sliced orange, green apple, and fresh cranberries to the pitcher.

  3. 3

Nestle the two whole cinnamon sticks into the fruit and liquid.

  4. 4

Cover the pitcher tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the flavors to meld and deepen.

  5. 5

Just before serving, remove the pitcher from the refrigerator.

  6. 6

Stir the sangria gently to redistribute the fruit and flavors.

  7. 7

Pour the sangria into individual glasses filled with ice, making sure each glass gets plenty of fruit.

  8. 8

Top each serving with a splash of chilled sparkling water or club soda for effervescence, about 2 tablespoons per glass.

  9. 9

Serve immediately and enjoy the festive, fruit-infused refreshment.
