Kida's Crystal Shard Sugar Cookies
Inspired by the glowing crystals of Atlantis, these delicate sugar cookies are crisp on the edges and soft in the center. Adorned with sapphire blue frosting and edible glitter, they evoke the mystical energy of the Atlantean之心. A delightful treat for any occasion, these cookies are as captivating as the city itself.

Directions
- 1
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- 2
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- 3
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- 4
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined and a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
- 5
Divide the dough in half, flatten each half into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- 6
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 7
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one disk of dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Using a sharp knife or cookie cutter, cut into geometric shard shapes.
- 8
Place cookies 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 9
To make the frosting, whisk together the confectioners' sugar and milk in a medium bowl until smooth. Add blue gel food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
- 10
Once cookies are completely cool, spread frosting evenly over each cookie. Sprinkle with edible glitter while the frosting is still wet.
- 11
Allow frosting to set completely before stacking or serving, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
